Anti-Ageing Facial Aesthetics

Asymmetry and/or signs of the ageing are very prominent when on the brow and forehead. As such, they easily alter and affect one’s facial expression; making one appear worried, weary, tired, grumpy or angry. Addressing this area can create a significant positive aesthetic impact.

What aesthetic results can be expected?

Lift, tone, and smooth the brow and forehead to restore a refreshed, friendlier, and youthful appearance. Results allow for unique facial features to regain attention – so one can feel more like themselves following treatment. One may appear more at ease, alert and approachable.

Indications for Treatment
• Excess sagging skin
• Deep brow furrows
• Creases, wrinkles and lines
• Drooping eyebrows

Three Ways to target indications of ageing on the Brow

1. Surgical Brow Lift

The Surgical Brow Lift – a classical cosmetic intervention that has been upgraded in recent years becoming more versatile with results appearing softer, more natural.

The Surgical Brow Lift can be performed using a variety of incision placements and surgical techniques. Most are located at or behind the hairline with the exception of the Mid-Brow, specifically useful for men undergoing the procedure who possess a receding hairline.

Regardless of incision type or location, all are strategically placed for an absolute minimum potential for visible scarring. An Endoscopic Brow Lift also utilizes between three to five incisions behind the hairline, but they are each smaller than in any of the traditional Brow Lift techniques. Surgery takes between one to two hours depending on individual specifications.

Need to Know – Capable of treating a wide range of symptoms. The Surgical Brow Lift remains the only option for the removal of excess skin. Results are long-lasting and considered to be permanent. Can be combined with other Cosmetic Surgeries including an Upper Blepharoplasty or Surgical Face Lift Surgery.

Recovery – Straightforward recovery requires scheduled downtime with no rigorous exercise. Head must be elevated for first week. Any major swelling and bruising should subside soon after the first 48 hours. Normal schedule can be resumed in two weeks and results can be seen in about 30 days. *Recovery following an Endoscopic procedure is often quicker.

2. Non-Surgical Brow Lift

A Non-Surgical Brow Lift – with the expert application of non-surgical treatments can create a refreshed aesthetic on the Brow.

Botulinum toxin can be applied to relax specific muscles, this allows other muscles to function unimpeded, which combine to having a marked impact on the visibility of wrinkles and resulting in a natural ‘lift’. Dermal fillers may be employed under the eyebrows to achieve a fuller or ‘lifted’ look &/ elsewhere in the vicinity in order to strategically shape and contour. A Non-Surgical Brow Lift may be ideal for individuals who only require a gentle lift or are curious to assess the effect on their appearance which a Surgical procedure could potentially have.

Need to Know – A Non-Surgical Brow Lift is less expensive and less invasive than surgery and carries fewer risks (however, any injectables still require a qualified Doctor). Correspondingly, it is not capable of treating certain more severe indications and results are not considered permanent. Quick and pain free, this is performed in-clinic and in under thirty minutes.

Recovery – Normal activities can be resumed directly after a Non-Surgical Brow Lift. Downtime is not needed.

3. Facial Dermal Rejuvenation

Non-Surgical skin resurfacing treatments are another approach to creating anti-ageing results on the brow region. Chemical Peels can be tailored to result in minor to significant skin resurfacing – and promote collagen and elastin production. Injections of Hyaluronic Acid can optimize moisture levels and improve dermal tone.

Need to Know – Affordable but will require future sessions to maintain results. Best application is before symptoms are severe and/or skin quality is significantly compromised.

Recovery – Will be specific to treatment undertaken but most necessitate zero downtime and incur only temporary minor skin tenderness as the new surface skin re-establishes its barrier.
