Chemical Peels are a great addition to my practice. This is not to say I have not enjoyed success using them in the past but until now I have not found a peel with enough cosmetic advantage over other peels you can find at Spa’s and Therapists.
What I’ve been looking for is a treatment that only doctors can do, that offers significant skin improvement after a single treatment and can be used in conjunction with other procedures to further enhance the outcome of a surgery i.e. facelift.
In essence a Chemical Peel is chemical skin resurfacing technique and there are many different acid options, strengths and purity – and each offers the patient something unique.
I mainly use deep peeling to completely resurface the skin, but with deep peels the downtime is significant. We will discuss all your Chemical Peel options and downtime during the consultation.
The process is simple: we clean the skin, apply the chemical and monitor the peel until we have penetrated to the correct depth. This acid forces new unblemished skin to the surface to replace the flaking old skin post treatment.
The great thing with the range of peels in my rooms is that we have options to deep peel but also to take time with peels to make sure you are satisfied with your ongoing treatment plan.
Chemical peels are good treatment options for:
- Skin resurfacing
- Pigmentation
- Anti-ageing
Dermal Needling is also available to revitalise your skin.
In most cases, patients book an appointment, let the reception staff know they are coming for a Chemical Peel and after an examination and discussion undergo an initial peel.
We will recommend a homecare range to keep you comfortable post peel and further enhance the result. Often with the less aggressive peels a few peels are required but this will all be explained during the consultation.
